'On A Clear Day' is a catalogue with a conversation between Rebecca Partridge and Jeffrey Saletnik. The catalogue is designed by Friederike Huber and is an edition of 250. The catalogue coincides with the exhibition ‘On A Clear Day’ 2021.
The title of the catalogue, which is the same as the title of Rebecca's solo exhibition is borrowed and lends reference to a series of 30 screen-prints created by American artist, Agnes Martin in 1973 also titled 'On A Clear Day'. Martin's work is resolutely abstract, yet frequently titled after landscapes. 'On a Clear Day' evokes landscape with its suggestion of looking, of how far the eye can see, but equally it points us to a state of mind, a clarity of thought. The paintings in this catalogue are very 'real' located in the world, yet they are concerned with the same questions and made with a desire to cultivate an attitude; through looking, quiet and attention.
