Brooke Holm USA, b. 1987
Brooke Holm is an Australian/American fine art photographer whose practice traverses the unique and complex bonds humans form with the natural environment. Her work explores ideas of our impact on the world-and the world's impact on us- by revering the sublime elements of Nature, and in term examining the human context within that environment. Often choosing to photograph from abstract perspectives, she prefers landscapes to remain anonymous, while celebrating their most intimate features. With concern for the fragility of our planet, she curates landscapes based on their significance within the global context of climate change.
Brooke Holm's work has been exhibited internationally including, UK, Australia, USA and France. In 2019 her work was included in the Every Woman Biennial, and she was selected for The Arctic Circle expeditionary residency in Svalbard, Norway, in the same year her self published catalogue titled Sand Sea won 3rd place at the International photography awards. In 2021 Brooke Holm was also selected as the artist in residence at MASS MoCA. Brooke Holm's work is held in private collections throughout Australia, New Zealand, USA and Europe.
